That's an easy one, Minnesota. My dad came back from Vietnam, met my mom in the Army. Adopted 13 of us, and we started farming in the late '70s, early '80s. If you think of Minnesota, you come out of the Twin Cities, in that Isanti, Cambridge, that type of area, and then just started to work our way down.
During the farming crisis, farming didn't go so well for our family. So, my dad went to law enforcement, truck driving, all sorts of great stuff to take care of our family, and my mom became a nurse.
During that period, my parents had decided to adopt 13 of us. I'm one of 13. Yeah. If you ask what our background was, it was definitely hard work, blue collar, dirt underneath your fingernails every day, but you were very proud of where you came from.
