Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer (WOKC) is a nonprofit organization based in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1980, WOKC has raised more than $5.5 million in the crusade against pediatric cancer.
WOKC is home to the Ambassador Family Program, hosting numerous events each year including professional and semi-professional sporting events, picnics, fishing tournaments, carnivals, holiday parties and more. There’s also the Buddy Bag Program, in which a care package is given to each family admitted for cancer treatment at Children’s Health System Dallas/Legacy, Cook Children’s Medical Center Fort Worth, and Medical City Children’s to ease the transition from home to hospital for both the child and parents. There’s also a strong emphasis on raising money for pediatric cancer research.
